To Jess, the entire Murphy family and James,
I am incredibly sorry and heartbroken to hear about your loss. Jennifer will forever live in our memories - especially those of childhood summers for me. Summers were something I looked forward to every year - and I remember how I couldn't wait to see Jennifer as soon as I got to Coxton Lake. She was such a big part of my childhood and will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to all of you...

James,
I can only imagine what a tough time this is for you and for the Murphy family. I know that since I first met Jennifer, you were the Rock in her life. Every conversation we had seemed to relay to you in her life. I know you gave her much happiness, from when you first met, to all the wonderful places you went together.
It is with sadness that I know she is gone from our daily lives, but I know she will live on in our memories and thoughts. She has truely impacted soo many lives. It is my hope that she knows that.

Easy Way to Cry (David Gray) |
March 10, 2008 |
.....Faith gone from your eyes
Each word it flies
Taking you further away
And come that day
There ain't no easy way to cry
And as I watch you leave I stand
Inside my house of straw
And everywhere I go I find
Things recollecting to my mind
How right it all could be
Faith gone from your eyes
Each word it flies
Straight to the heart and I know
Watching you go
There ain't no easy way to cry
So right now
So right now
So right now
Lyrics: David Gray, Easy Way to Cry

James, and the Murphy family-
Jennifer generously shared herself with me for two years at Pratt. Her energy, enthusiasm, humor and spirit made the experience there so much richer for me. She was the person I was most close to and the one I think of every time I walk the streets of NYC. It was such a joyful time, with me always trying to match her long strides. Even though we had a hard time staying in touch as she moved from place to place, she has been in my thoughts and in my heart throughout the years since we graduated. I can't express my own sadness, nor can I imagine yours. She was a wonderful art maker and a wonderful friend.
I hope her memory will sustain you and the the prayers of her friends and loved ones will comfort you. C

To: Mrs. Murphy, James, Jessica, Mike and Jerry -
I am in shock about the news of Jen's death. I am at a loss for words. My entire life has passed before my eyes in the last 2 days. Half of my life consisted of memories with the entire Murphy family and especially Jennifer. She and I laughed and played our way through the first 18 years of our life together. We had so much fun! And when she and I would talk it was always as if time stopped and we were right back there in Roseland, N.J. playing on our rock! She was a wonderful person and friend. I will miss her more than I can express. My sadness goes beyond measure for all of you! I love you guys!
